The Mole

The Mole is a reality TV show originally debuting in Belgium in 1999. It has since been shown in the USA and numerous other countries. The goal of the game is for the players to determine who among them has been "planted" into the show by the producers as the "Mole." This person must do their best to maintain the illusion that they are a contributing member of the group, while at the same time sabotaging their efforts. Over the course of the game, participants track many small pieces of information about fellow contestants in personal notebooks. They are then quizzed at the end of each episode about what they know about the others. The contestant scoring the lowest in these quizzes is then eliminated from the competition. Contestants also take part in a number of challenges throughout each episode, each assigned a monetary value. If they complete the challenge successfully, that amount of money is added to the overall prize money. The US version of the show aired in 2001, 2002-2005 and 2008.
