The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is a Japanese anime based on the popular manga series of the same name about a gifted young student with the ability to warp reality and the group of friends she assembles to investigate any mysterious happenings around town. The story is told through the eyes of Kyon, a normal boy who is intrigued by Haruhi's odd antics at the beginning of the school year. When Haruhi puts out an invitation for people with powers to join her club, the SOS Brigade, Kyon signs up hoping he'll be accepted as a normal human. Haruhi does accept him, along with Yuki Nagato, Mikuru Asahina, and Itsuki Koizumi-three quirky youngsters who are sent to monitor Haruhi by a variety of secret organizations. As the five kids grow closer, they get into a series of adventures that takes them to some pretty weird places. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya is an entertaining anime series about a rag-tag band of young crime solvers led by an energetic young woman with a taste for adventure. MORE
