The Inspector Lynley Mysteries

The Inspector Lynley Mysteries is the BBC TV series about Detective Inspector Tommy Lynley and Detective Sergeant Barbara Havers. Much of the series is based on novels by American author Elizabeth George, though the plots and characters are often altered. Elizabeth has been hailed as the master of the English mystery, though she was born in Ohio and raised in California in the United States. Her dark and psychologically rich tales of crime and detectives have become international best sellers. Nathaniel Parker and Sharon Small star as Lynley and Havers, and the crime drama shows the team investigating grisly murders. Lynley is upper-crust while Havers is working class, and the show has a lot of tension between their classes and genders. The mismatched London detectives do have some things in common, their troubled home lives and their passion for their jobs.
