The Incredible Hulk (1996)

The Incredible Hulk (1996) is the animated series that follows Marvel superhero the Hulk. The show ran for two seasons on UPN, and Lou Ferrigno, the original Hulk from the 70's live-action series, returned to be the voice of Hulk. The series begins with Bruce Banner on the run from the military, while still trying to rid himself of his beast within. He falls into the hands of The Leader, and his friends along with some mutated cave dwellers work to save him. Hulk is freed and is once again a fugitive, trying to find a way to rid himself of his power. When the hunt for Hulk gets too close to his family, his best friend and cousin Jennifer Walters is critically injured by Doctor Doom, and becomes She-Hulk after a blood transfusion from Bruce. The show started with a very dark style, with downbeat endings and exploration of character's bad sides. UPN decided that the show needed to be more upbeat, and also cater to female viewers, so the tone was changed and She-Hulk became a regular co-star.
