The Hunger is a horror/drama series from Scott Free Productions (directors Ridley Scott and Tony Scott's production company) and Telescene Film Group, and was a collaboration between British and Canadian Television. Originally airing on the Sci Fi Channel in the United Kingdom, The Hunger was presented as an anthology of sorts, with self-contained stories as each of the episodes. Actor Terence Stamp (The Limey) hosted every episode of the first season, and introduced each one. Musician/actor David Bowie (The Man Who Fell to Earth, The Prestige) took over hosting duties for the second season. Authors such as Graham Masterson, Gemma Files, Poppy Z. Brite and Harlan Ellison wrote many of the supernaturally-oriented episodes. Notable actors involved in the series include Daniel Craig, Karen Black, Balthazar Getty, Timothy Spall, Michael Gross, and Giovanni Ribisi.
