The Greatest American Hero is the unlikely story of High School teacher Ralph Hinkley (William Katt), an ordinary man who receives an extraordinary red suit after an alien encounter. The suit, which he calls the "magic jimmies," gives him super powers. Powers which, after losing the instruction manual, he has very little control over. Powers or not, Ralph is determined to become a crime-fighter. With the support of his girlfriend Pam Davidson (Connie Selleca) and G-Man Bill Maxwell (Robert Culp), he'll protect the city as well as he can...it might not be that well. The show was created by Television legend Stephen J. Cannell and ran for three seasons on ABC from 1981 to 1983. Featuring a who's who of 1980's guest stars such as Bob Saget, Andre the Giant, Markie Post, and June Lockhart. Also notable is The Greatest American Hero's theme song, "Believe it or Not."
