The Gong Show with Dave Attell

The Gong Show with Dave Attell is a comedy game show that aired on Comedy Central and was a remake of the Chuck Barris-hosted game show of the 1970s, but with a modern twist. The game show kept the format of the original, where amateur performers of questionable talent performed for a panel of celebrity judges. Once the act became too horrible for any of the judges to bear, the judge would strike a huge gong, thus ending the performance and eliminating the contestant. If the judges could handle the performance until the bitter end, they would give a score on a scale of 0 to 500. The performer with the highest total score won a cash prize of $600. Celebrity judges include Dave Navarro, Andy Dick, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Adam Corolla and Ron White. Host Dave Attell is notable for previously hosting the Comedy Central show Insomniac with Dave Attell, where he would wander a city all night in search of fun. MORE
