The Gates is an hour-long television drama airing on the ABC Television Network starting June 2010. In this drama, The Monahan family moves to The Gates, an upscale gated suburban community from Chicago. The reason for their arrival is that Nick the father (played by Frank Grillo) has taken the police chief of The Gates post with the hopes of slowing down his work life. Sarah is Nick's wife and is played by Marisol Nichols. She is the picture of suburban bliss, but starts to learn things about her husband that make her question everything. Charlie and Dana are their teenage children (Charlie is played by Travis Caldwell) with the challenges of growing up and fitting into a new community and school.
