The French Chef is a culinary TV series developed by Julia Child as one of the first cooking shows ever on television that follows Julia Child's introduction of French cuisine and culinary styles into the American culture. Typically a style known for its expense, the goal of the show was to show that good and tasty French cooking was not something that was only a treat in a restaurant but could be an attainable present at home. A bit of a novelty, The French Chef was unique in that Julia Child did all of the cooking as the show was taped live, ultimately leaving little room for mistakes. If they did happen, it was a great way to show that even the professionals felt the stress of a recipe and nothing is one hundred percent perfect Neither French nor a chef, Julia Child was an icon for representing hard work and culinary delights as she showed viewers some delicious dishes, including Beef Wellington, an abundant amount of souffl's, and pastries. The French Chef captured her eager passion, her fondness for wine, and the use of butter. As she would say, Bon app'tit!MORE
