The F.B.I.

The F.B.I. is an American television series that ran from September 1965 to September 1974, sponsored by the Ford Motor Company. The popular series has been referenced to often in pop culture over time, including a reference in the Dukes of Hazzard. Each episode centers around a case that is based on real F.B.I. files. Inspector Lewis Erskine (Efrem Zimbalist Jr.) and coworkers, which varied over the years, handle the cases in a fairly realistic, and quite entertaining, way that caught the attention of audiences across the United States of America. But even top dog F.B.I. inspectors have to deal with bosses, and Erskine must report to Arthur Ward (Philip Abbott), assistant to the director of the F.B.I. The F.B.I. was a very popular television series in its time, earning a nomination for a 1967 Eddie Award from the American Cinema Editors, a nomination for a 1969 Emmy Award, and a 1969 Golden Globe Award.
