The Drew Carey Show

The Drew Carey Show is a sitcom on ABC that is set in Cleveland, Ohio and focuses on the life of Drew Carey as a highly fictionalized version of himself. A comedian, television host, and actor in real life, the Drew Carey on the show is a department store office worker. Although his position and company changed many times throughout the show's nine seasons, much of each episode took place inside his office. Drew Carey's coworkers include his arch nemesis, Mimi Bobeck (Kathy Kinney), and his eventual boss, the unusual Nigel Wick (Craig Ferguson); during the show's run, the three often traded jobs and tricked each other out of promotions. Other recurring characters in Drew Carey's fictional life are his two best friends, Lewis Kiniski (Ryan Stiles) and Oswald Lee Harvey (Diedrich Bader), his eventual girlfriend Kate O'Brien (Christa Miller), and his cross-dressing brother Steve Carey (John Carroll Lynch). Drew and his friends are, for the most part, typical Americans living normal lives; they spend most of their time hanging out in bars and struggling to find love and make ends meet. The Drew Carey Show was produced by Mohawk Productions and Warner Bros. Television. It ran from 1995 to 2004 and in later seasons it often featured special episodes, such as "What's Wrong With This Episode," where audience members could search for things what were out of place, live episodes, and even an episode that also aired online, something unheard of at that time. Although The Drew Carey Show actually had three separate theme songs throughout its run, it is most famous for the 1997-2004 theme song, Cleveland Rocks by The Presidents of the United States of America.
