The Bridge is a Canadian police drama that originally aired in the United States on CBS and is loosely based on the former head of the Toronto police union, Craig Bromell played by Aaron Douglas as the character Frank Leo. The series begins as Leo is unanimously elected as the new police union head who leads his 8,000 fellow police officers with a zero tolerance for corruption and crime. Leo's partner and right hand man, Tommy Dunn (Paul Popowich) accompanies Leo across the bridge that defines the divide between the wealthy Rosedale neighborhood of Toronto and into the poor and crime riddled neighborhood they patrol known as St. James Town. Leo and Dunn are accompanied by Sergeant Bernie Kantor (Frank Cassini) who serves as the moral compass and voice of the law, Jill (Inga Cadranel) a career driven detective who is quickly escalating through the ranks, Billy (Theresa Joy) an eager female officer who is persistent in her efforts to prove herself to the guys on the force and Ed Wycoff (Michael Murphy) the perspicacious Chief of Police. Abby St. James (Ona Grauer) rounds out the team as the criminal prosecutor and love interest of Frank Leo.MORE
