The Bernie Mac Show was a sitcom that aired on the FOX network from 2001 to 2006 starring the late stand up comedian and actor, Bernie Mac. Bernie McCullough is the king of his castle. He's a popular stand up comic on top of the world, with everything working out his way. He has a beautiful and successful wife, Wanda. He pretty much lives the dream. That is until his sister is sent to rehab leaving her three kids in his care. Hilarity ensues! There's Vanessa, the eldest and independent brat, Jordan, the pitiful middle wimp child and nerd boy wonder, and sweet Bryana, the youngest of the three. Bernie's life is completely turned upside down after he turns comedian to chaperon and he certainly has much to learn turning into a parent. But behind every good man, there's a woman, and for him it's Wanda keeping him from going off the deep end. Still, it's a fun trial by error when America's least qualified patient parent gets three of his own. The show has won several awards including an Emmy, the Peabody award and the Humanitas Prize.
