Beast Player Erin is an animated fantasy TV series developed by Production I.G. based on the novel series, The Beast Player, by Nahoko Uehashi that centers on Erin, a young, observant, and caring girl who has a unique ability to become close to any animal with the help of a harp. The people of her village think her unnatural gift with animals is a result of her mother, Soyon, being a member of the elusive Mist People, a group known for their ability to do magic. Soyon does her best to train Erin to become the next beastinarian for the animals of the Village of Ake, including the mighty beasts, the Toudas, which are relied on by the army of the Grand Duke. When her mother is executed, Erin strives forward in her goal to become a beastinarian, even going so far as to take care of Lilan, a female Ohju or dragon, and Eku, a male Ohju. While Erin grows and learns, it seems she is pulled into an unknown war between the Shin Oh and Tai-Koh regions as the Duke Daimiyah wants an all out war while the Queen wishes to end any conflict with the marriage of her daughter, Princess Seimiyah, and the Tai-Koh Grand Duke’s eldest son, Shunan.MORE
