The Batman is an animated action series where a 26-year-old Bruce Wayne is in his third year as The Batman. He is still a vigilante at this point and does not have the cooperation and adulation of the police or mayor, who do not believe that citizens should be doling out their own version of vigilante justice. He uses his wealth and intellect to create gadgets in the Batcave to further his cause as Gotham's protector. The show follow's its own timeline and does not continue any particular story lines from other Batman series', films or comics. The show's look is also very different, as it is particularly cartoonish and light compared to previous incarnations of the Dark Knight.
