The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr.

In the Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., the always charming Bruce Campbell plays the titular character, a Harvard Law graduate turned wild west bounty hunter. True to its classic Western genre, Brisco is on a quest to hunt down the members of the Bly gang, the unconvicted murderers of Brisco County Senior. Brisco collects a band of side-kicks to help along the way including, Socrates Poole, an attorney representing Brisco’s employers, Lord Bowler, a rival bounty hunter with a bad temper, and Comet, Brisco’s loyal steed who he communicates with as if he were a person. The show incorporated science-fiction elements as well, as Brisco spends much of the series searching for a mysterious Orb of unknown power and function. The light-hearted and irreverent tone mixed pleasantly with the western/adventure plot lines, and without them the show might’ve seemed lost with some of its more off-genre elements. MORE
