That's My Bush!

That’s My Bush! is a Comedy Central political sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone, the same guys responsible for South Park. The series follows the fictionalized personal life of then-President George W. Bush. From a distance, That’s My Bush might seem like a scathing criticism of the Bush administration by two comedians famous for their hilarious attacks on public figures. Actually, the amount of political satire in That’s My Bush is kept to a bare minimum, choosing instead to use the setting of the White House and its occupants to satirize the predictability of television sitcoms from the 1970s and 1980s. Each episode references a significant political issue, such as abortion rights, the death penalty, or gun control. However, the focus of the episode always centers around a well-known sitcom cliché, such as two characters forced to solve their problems while locked in a room, or a character’s struggle to impress a parent-in-law.
