Telescope was a documentary style Canadian TV program that was aired for a period of seven years, premiering in 1964 and ending in 1971. Although the show was in production for seven years, a total of only eighteen episodes were aired. The purpose of the show was to profile certain people who have contributed to society in a very large way. Certain notables who have been featured on Telescope include Alfred Hitchcock, the well-known film director, Adrian Conan Doyle, the son of the creator of Sherlock Holmes Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and the folk singer Gordon Lightfoot. One episode features not a person, but a particular landmark: Speaker's Corner in Hyde Park, London. The episode, titled "Around The Marble Arch", takes a look at some notable people who have visited the corner, one of whom is credited as the world's most tattooed man. The host of Telescope is actor and director Fletcher Markle.MORE
