Swingtown is a TV show on CBS that takes places in 1968 in the suburbs of Chicago, following three couples; Bruce Miller (Jack Davenports) and his wife Susan (Molly Parker), Tom (Grant Show) and Trina Decker (Lana Parilla), and Roger (Josh Hopkins) and Janet Thompson (Miriam Shor). Bruce and Susan, married since high school when Susan got pregnant, are longtime friends of the Thompsons, but their friendship is strained when the Deckers moved in, mostly based on the fact that the Deckers make no secret of their open marriage. The closeness of the neighbors and the climate of the swingin’ 60s lead to conclusions that none of them expected. Aside from the three couples, their children are having new experiences as well. The Millers have a teenage daughter, Laurie (Shanna Collins), and a son named Bruce Junior (B.J. for short, and the Millers have a son, Rick. Rick and B.J.’s friendship is tested by their parents’ tensions, and Laurie is attracted to one of her teachers (Michael Rady), while B.J. develops a crush on the girl next door, Samantha Saxton (Brittany Robertson). The show was cancelled after one season.MORE
