Suddenly Susan

Suddenly Susan was a tv show airing on NBC starring Brooke Shields as Susan Keane, a woman working at the Gate, a magazine in San Francisco, along with her boss Jack Richmond (Judd Nelson), restaurant critic Vicki Groener (Kathy Griffin), music critic Todd Styles (David Strickland), and photographer Luis Rivera (Nestor Carbonell). Susan is engaged to the wealthy but shallow Kip, and realizes their incompatibility at an inconvenient moment, leaving him at the altar. Although the fact that Kip is Jack’s brother could have led to an awkward work setting, Jack is much different from Kip and responds to the slight Susan has dealt his brother by giving her a regular column in the magazine about life as a newly single woman. The problem is, Susan has rarely been single before, and the new territory as well as proving herself at the magazine leads to an interesting new start as she relies on her grandmother Nana (Barbara Barrie) for support. Her co-workers have their own personal lives to contend with as well. Suddenly Susan is often remembered by the overshadowing tragedy of the death of actor David Strickland, who sadly committed suicide shortly before the end of the third season. MORE
