Subterranean is an MTV2 program featuring an hour of music videos from a wide rangle of independent and alternative artists. The alternative music video hour was created in 2003. Jim Shearer originally hosted the program but as of 2007 the format was changed to have a different musical act host each episode. Bands such as Hot Chip, Weezer and Vampire Weekend have all been hosts at some point during Subterraneans run on MTV2. As of 2008, Subterranean episodes have been available online at MTV.com.MORE
