Styl’d is a reality series on MTV focused on five junior assistants as they enter the world of high-profile celebrity stylists. Janna, Brett, Tara, and Gary are working under Jen Rade, the senior stylist and head of the junior assistant program with the Margaret Maldonado styling agency, the self proclaimed “CAA of styling agencies.” At the end of the junior assistants’ program, the assistant who best meets the demands of the program will receive a styling contact with the agency. At MMA, the senior stylists work with A- list celebrities, actors, models and pop stars on red carpet events, photoshoots, music videos, movies, and award shows, and that’s where every assistant wants to be. In addition to trying to launch their dream styling career, the assistants must deal with their personal lives, friendships, and relationships, and in order to create an impression on the stylists at MMA, they won’t hesitate to betray each other.
