Strikeforce is a United States based MMA (mixed martial arts) series on NBC Originally, Strikeforce was solely a kickboxing-based organization in northern California. Owned and controlled by CEO Scott Coker and Silicon Valley Sports Entertainment, the organization partnered with NBC in March of 2008 to televise the bought and create a series around the fighters. Each series episode pits two fighters of different fight training and technique against one another. Fighter profiles are created based on their skill level in their respective fight expertise. Fight analysts weigh the opponents' stats and predict the outcome. Then the fighting begins. The boughts follow the Unified Rules of Mixed Martial Arts. Meaning that each fight consists of three rounds and each round lasting five minutes. If the fight happens to be for a championship title, the matches are five five-minute rounds.
