Strawberry Shortcake is a popular animated children's television show on Fox, based off of the original American Greeting licensed character of the same name and image. No longer just an image on a greeting card, Strawberry Shortcake made her debut on the small screen in the 1980s, with a total of six annual episodes airing from 1980 to 1986. Then, in 2003, DiC Entertainment and 20th Century Fox joined forces to revive Strawberry Shortcake, this time with the purpose of providing an educational television program for the same target audience of children ages four and up. With each episode focusing on a positive message about topics like friendship, self-esteem, peaceful conflict resolving techniques, the joys of reading, and so on, Strawberry Shortcake has earned four out of five stars from Common Sense Media, a program to help parents choose good chose for their children to watch.
