Stella is a comedy series on Comedy Central that follows the absurd lives of David Wain, Michael Showalter, and Michael Ian Black. The trio, (who play themselves) live together in a Manhattan apartment where they always wear suits (even in the shower) and sometimes try to meet girls. The guys share the building with the "girls downstairs," played by Andrea Rosen, Samantha Buck and Heidi Neurauter. Also featured on the show is Justin Lord, who plays a variety of characters, including the mayor, the co-op board president, and himself. While the 30-minute episodes generally follow a loose plot, many strange and hilariously absurd things happen throughout the course of the show. Stella aired on June 28th, 2005, and lasted for only ten episodes. Though the series was short-lived on Comedy Central, Stella was actually based on a live sketch-comedy show by the same name. Showalter, Black and Wain developed the live show after their popular MTV show, The State, went off the air in 1995.
