Standoff

Standoff is a drama television series that originally aired on FOX in 2006, it was created by Craig Silverstein and executive produced by Silverstein, Tim Story and Glen Mazzara. The series centers around two top-ranked negotiators in the FBI’s Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU) who can handle any crisis situation except when it involves each other. Matt Flannery (Ron Livingston) and Emily Lehman (Rosemarie DeWitt) are trained to talk their way through any crisis situation. They are expertly trained to know what makes people tick and are called in to resolve situations such as kidnappings, high-risk suicides, hostage situations, bomb threats, stalking cases and gang violence. Their only drawback is that they have one secret. They’re sleeping together. They agree to keep their relationship a secret. That is until a tense hostage standoff arises and Matt, who rarely takes anything seriously, goes with his gut instinct and reveals their relationship to the world. Tensions arise between him and Emily, an overly analytical academic, and they get into major trouble with their boss, the head of the Los Angeles CNU, Cheryl Cerrera (Gina Torres). MORE
