Spider-Man: The Animated Series

Spider-Man: The Animated Series is an action animated television series that premiered in 1994 on Fox Kids and stayed true to the popular Marvel comic book series.  The show follows a 19-year-old Peter Parker who is in his first year of college and working part time as a photographer for J.J. Jameson's newspaper the Daily Bugle. The show differentiates itself from the previous Spider-Man cartoon of the 1960s by exploring Peter's civilian life instead of only action. His love affairs, particularly with Mary Jane Watson, are an important theme throughout the series, as well as his family relationships with his Aunt May and Peter's personal guilt from his uncle's death. The show has plenty of action, and features all of the most famous and popular villains of the webslinger, as well as several other Marvel comic superheroes. Villains such as Venom, Mysterio, Hobglobin, and Dr. Octopus are all featured, as well as several crossovers with superheroes such as the X-Men, Daredevil, and Iron Man. MORE
