Spaced

Spaced is the cult classic British television show from the late 90s that first brought attention to comedian/actors Nick Frost and Simon Pegg and director Edgar Wright, who have since gone on to make 'Shaun of the Dead,' 'Hot Fuzz,' and 'Scott Pilgrim VS. The World.' 'Spaced' tells the story of two semi-aimless 20-somethings, Daisy Steiner (a would be writer) and Tim Bisley (a would be comic artist), who decide to lie, saying they are a professional married couple, so they can rent a cheap flat together which is available only to couples. Their lives become entangled with the others in the flat, including their eccentric landlady Marsha Klein, the intensely strange conceptual artist Brian Topp, and Tim's best friend, the slow-witted and army obsessed Mike Watt. The show is full of pop culture spoofs, fantasy sequences, and over the top comedic events, all the the while maintaining a large heart and sympathy for its young and often naive characters as they try to sort out their newly minted 'adult existences.'
