So You Think You Can Dance

So You Think You Can Dance (abbreviated by fans as SYTYCD) is a reality dance competition show on Fox hosted by British television personality Cat Deeley and has been judged by Nigel Lythgoe, Mary Murphy, Adam Shankman, and Mia Michaels. After dancers audition from all over the country, promising contestants work with top choreographers during callbacks, after which they are narrowed down to 20 competitors who will continue on. The 20 then work in pairs, which stay together until the final 10, at which point partners are chosen at random, along with the style of dance they will perform. They also do solo dances at this juncture, and viewers can vote on who will escape elimination, until finals when each finalist performs with each of the others. In the results show, winners recreate the judges' favorite routine from the season. Past winners have included Benjie Schwimmer, Sabra Johnson, Joshua Allen, and Russell Ferguson , and other popular contestants were Travis Wall (runner-up in season 2), Heidi Groskreutz (4th place in season 2), and Stephen "Twitch" Boss (runner-up in season 4).
