Sisters

Sisters is a dramatic TV series developed by NBC that focuses on the lives of the vastly different Reed sisters and their families in Winnetka, Illinois. Their absentee and workaholic doctor of a father had always wanted boys while their mother turned to alcohol to handle the abandonment of her husband in his focus on work and other women. Alex (Swoosie Kurtz) is the oldest who had lived a wealthy and pampered wife who tends to get involved with highly motivated husbands while clashing with her rebellious daughter Reed. Fashion designer Teddy (Sela Ward) is the second oldest and is a bit of a free-spirit as she handles the marriage of her ex-husband (Ed Marinaro) to her younger sister Frankie (Julianne Phillips) and the rape of her only daughter Cat (Heather McAdam). Georgie (Patricia Kalember) is the most levelheaded of the sisters, coping to maintain the façade of a seemingly perfect life while dealing with stress of one son’s battle with leukemia. Frankie is the youngest and a workaholic businesswoman trying to remain married to her sister’s ex-husband and to her career. Sisters explores how sisterly relationships develop and grow as the stress and trials of life make itself known. MORE
