Shigurui: Death Frenzy

Shigurui: Death Frenzy is a historical action drama animated series based on a manga series by Takayuki Yamaguchi concentrates on the past and present of a tournament match between stoic Fujiki Gennosuke, a one-armed star pupil of his unbalanced master, eleven-fingered Iwamoto Kogan, and ambitious Irako Seigen, a blind fighter who had been a rival of Fujiki’s years before. Since it is a time of peace during the Edo Era in Japan, the Lord Tokugawa Tadanaga holds fighting tournaments in order to keep the warriors honed and his people entertained. The fighters typically fight with bokken, or wooden swords, but this tournament is going to be fought with real steel Japanese swords, thanks to the urging of the province overlord. Both had been students learning under the same master, Kogan, and both had pushed themselves to prove worthy of becoming his successor. Now with the steel swords, there can be only one in the end.
