Shakugan no Shana, which literally translates to Burning-Eyed Shana in English, is an Anime show based off of a series short novels written by Yashichiro Takahashi and illustrated by Noizi Ito. Shakugan no Shana, or Shana for short, had a short run in Japan, originally airing from October 6, 2005 to March 23, 2006. The story revolves around Yuji Sakai, a high school student whose world literally comes to a halt, forcing Yuji to helplessly watch others around him die from a mysterious fire. As a monster begins to swallow the flames, it notices that Yuji has not been affected by the attack and tries to eat Yuji. Fortunately for Yuji, a girl dressed in all black flies in with her sword in hand, and kills the monstrous beast. Eventually Yuji and this strange girl become friends, and he bestows the name of Shana upon her (the name of her sword). Yuji discovers that he has a special power that enables him to remain in existence rather than be stopped by time and consumed by monsters. Unfortunately for Yuji, his abilities are sought after, and he and Shana must battle the evil forces that would love to kill Yuji and use his gift for their own rotten purposes of ruling the world.MORE
