Secrets of the Dead

Secrets of the Dead is a historical documentary TV series produced for PBS that follows a team of investigators as they explore what today scientists have classified as the great mysteries or unexplained events of history. The incorporation of primary sources, such as first hand accounts, and dramatic reenactments with the help of CGI imagery, Secrets of the Dead hopes to debunk the myths and bring new light to these consistently gossiped about unknowns. Some of the topics covered included the Salem witch trials, the black plague, the sinking of the Titanic, the controversial order by Winston Churchill to bomb the French navy, and the Allied hunt for Nazi scientists. Narrated by actor Liev Schreiber, Secrets of the Dead gives the audience a way to the truth with the application of modern forensic science on historical indeterminable urban legends. The series has been awarded ten CINE Golden Eagle Awards as well as three News and Documentary Emmy Award nominations. MORE
