Sea Hunt was an extremely popular American action adventure television series that aired from 1958 to 1961, lasting 155 episodes. It revolved around the adventures of the ex-navy frogman turned freelance scuba diver Mike Nelson, played by Lloyd Bridges (father of actors Beau Bridges and Jeff Bridges.) The pilot episode featured Mike Nelson saving a downed Air Force Pilot from his sunken jet. The rest of the series followed Nelson on various other missions and adventures as he battled villains, saved children and dogs and salvaged nuclear missiles, bicycles and everything in between. The show featured extensive underwater photography and heavy use of voice over from Bridges, as recording dialogue underwater wasn't possible then. The show featured several other actors who went on to have successful careers such as Bruce Dern, Robert Conrad, Leonard Nimoy and Jack Nicholson.
