Saving Grace is a TNT crime drama TV series which follows Grace Hanadarko (Holly Hunter), who is visited by a mysterious man named Earl who is trying to convince her to seek God's help. Grace is an Oklahoma City detective, passionate about her job of investigating homicides and other crimes, but weighted by vices like smoking, heavy drinking, and promiscuity. After one long night of drinking, Grace hits a pedestrian in her Porsche, killing them. When she calls out for God's help, Earl appears, a scruffy man who advises her to turn her life over to God and leave her current path that has her destined for hell. When he disappears, the victim is also gone, and Grace discovers that the victim was actually a death row inmate who Earl also visits. Grace is a loving and generous person, and a talented and dedicated detective, but still struggles with her vices, drinking heavily and having an affair with her police colleague Ham. Grace must fight to get straight while fighting against criminals and trying to find the connection between her and the death row inmate.
