Sarah's Summer House

Sarah's Summer House is the HGTV series where host Sarah Richardson works on creating a weekend getaway house. Sarah started her career 15 years ago as a prop stylist and set decorator for television shows. When design television became all the rage, she became in high demand for her amazing work done with her company Sarah Richardson Design Inc, which she has ran for more than a decade. Sarah takes on residential and commercial projects, creating signature spaces with timeless appeal. Sarah was even named one of Canada's "style-makers" by Canadian House & Home magazine. Now we get to join the designer as she takes on a personal project, that she will actually be living in. Purchased by her husband as a bachelor shack before they got married, the tiny island cottage is located 17 miles offshore and lives completely off the grid. The rustic and relaxing place runs off a combination of solar, wind, and propane energy, but the style could use an update. Sarah is going to work to renovate the place, making it as beautiful as the stunning lake scenery that surrounds it, while also considering storage, versatility and more.
