Samurai Girl is a miniseries tv show that aired on ABC family based on the young adult novels by Carrie Asai, starring Jamie Chung as Heaven, who survives a plane crash as a baby and is taken in by the wealthy Kogo family. Heaven trains to become a samurai as her ancestors were and fight against the Yakuza after they attack her family at her wedding, killing her brother. She discovers that her father is not who she thought he was, and commits to discovering his involvement with the Yakuza and defeating them with the help of new American friends who assist her in her training when she relocates to San Francisco. She finds out that she is part of a prophecy that has caused her entanglement with the Yakuza. She returns home to find out more about her father, who she has been warned is dangerous but she continues to believe is innocent, until she finds the documents about the prophecy in his office. Several casualties along the way make Heaven more determined to face off against the Yakuza as she navigates surviving the prophecy and protecting those who are close to her in the process.MORE
