Safety Smart Science

Safety Smart Science is an educational science TV show developed by Disney as Bill Nye the Science Guy works with Underwriters Laboratories as he hopes to teach kids how to safely deal with fire. Safety Smart is a Disney sponsored initiative aimed to improve the awareness and understanding of children in how to safely manage themselves by acting in a conscious manner. Bill Nye lights a spark of interest in his students with this video explaining just how fire works – from its role as heat, its purpose as fuel, and the effect oxygen has in its composition. He also carefully explores how fire can be both helpful and destructive.
