Rumbling Hearts is an animated dramatic romance TV series developed by Studio Fantasia based on a visual novel adventure game that centers on the dramas, tragedies, and romances of four best friends, Takayuki Narumi, Mitsuki Hayase, Haruka Suzumiya, and Shinji Taira, as they weave three timelines into one series. Haruka and Takayuki had been set up together by Haruka's best friend Mitsuki, despite the fact that she also liked Takayuki. When Haruka is involved in a horrible car crash in the end of their high school career, Haruka is left in a coma while her friends and family suffer the consequences from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. As Takayuki and Mitsuko flounder with their inability to cope with their distress, they bond together in the loss of their girlfriend (Takayuki) and best friend (Mitsuko). Things take a strange turn though when Haruka awakens only to not remember anything beyond high school, including the accident, Takayuki has to determine whether he should choose to be with the girl he lost or the girl he found.
