Rookies

Rookies, a reality television series on the A&E network, follows the stories of rookie police officers as they brave academy training. Shot in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana and Tampa, Florida, Rookies carefully follows each of the trainees as they venture out into the streets of their hometown. Following each of the officers over the 12-week training period, Rookies, similarly to Cops, provides an inside look at much of the field work to which officers regularly respond. Unlike Cops, however, Rookies encourages the audience get to know each of the officers on a more personal level. Struggling to handle the intense pressure of becoming a police officer, some of the rookies decide against continuing their training. The rest however, are rewarded with their badge and are sworn in in the season's finale episode. Produced by the Greif Company and Tiger Aspect Productions, Rookies aired for one season in 2008 and was not renewed for a second. MORE
