Rita Rocks was an original Lifetime sitcom created by James Berg and Stan Zimmerman. The show aired for two seasons, from October 20, to December 7, 2009. Set in the Detroit, MI area, Rita Rocks revolved around Rita Clemens (Nicole Sullivan), a working mother trying to manage her time between her kids and work. When Rita found an old guitar in her garage, she decided to start a rock band. She got her friend Patty Mannix (Tisha Campbell), her neighbor Owen Delgado Jr. (Ian Gomez) and her daughter's boyfriend Skip (Raviv Ullman) to join her band. Jay Clemens (Richard Ruccolo), Rita's husband, did his best to support Rita's decision to start a band. Other characters included Hallie Clemens (Natalie Drefuss), Rita and Jay's rebellious teenage daughter Shannon Clemens (Kelly Gould), Rita and Jay's gifted 9-year-old daughter and Marilyn (Swoosie Kurtz), Rita's mother.
