Rick Steves' Europe

Rick Steves' Europe is the popular travel series hosted by famed world-traveler Rick Steves. It has long been a part of Oregon Public Broadcasting, the primary public broadcasting network for most of Oregon and Washington. The program grew out of Steves' career as a travel consultant and travel book author. A large part of Steves' appeal lies in his desire to share travel expertise focusing on a tourist's esteem and respect to the country they are visiting. He encourages anyone traveling in Europe to really soak in their surroundings and guides viewers to both well known destinations and lesser known spots like little villages and ancient festivals. Season 5 of the show saw Rick visiting Athens, Greece, Barcelona, Istanbul, Copenhagen, Switzerland, and more. Rick Steves writes and co-produces his television programs through his own production company, Back Door Productions.
