Red Shoe Diaries is a television series that aired on Showtime from 1992 to 1997 telling fictional women's stories involving love, sex, and betrayal. Each episode begins with the host, Jake Winters (David Duchovny), whose wife committed suicide before their wedding. After discovering her secret diary and learning the her deepest secrets there, he puts out an ad for other women to send in their diaries so he can better understand his fiancee's reasoning for killing herself. Each episode we see Winters begin a letter he has received “Dear Red Shoes...” as he walks along an empty railroad track with his dog. Each episode is a self-contained story with no relation any other episodes besides the fact that both women responded to the ad. The show features sensual love scenes as nudity as the woman's tale of passion gone awry is told.
