The Real World Presents: Return to Duty

The Real World Presents: Return to Duty is a single-episode spin-off following the conclusion of The Real World: Brooklyn that follows Ryan Conklin as he returns to Iraq for another tour of duty overseas. Throughout The Real World: Brooklyn, viewers learned that Ryan, the charismatic jokester, suffered greatly because of his experience overseas. He had chronic knee pain for which he received no treatment, and displayed symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (like thoughts of suicide). Ryan attended meetings of Iraq Veterans Against the War, and hoped that electing Barack Obama as President would prevent him from being recalled to Iraq. So in episode eleven, when he found out he'd have to return to active duty, viewers felt Ryan's heartache. Now, viewers can see what happened to Ryan after he left. Watch as his parents and loved ones cope with the stress and uncertainty of his leaving, and see how his new relationship with fellow Real World castmate Baya holds up under pressure.
