Rave Master

Rave Master was a Japanese-style animated series ("anime") on TBS that was based on a manga series by Hiro Mashima. Originally licensed for English release in North America by Tokyopop, the series tells the story of a world slowly being destroyed by Dark Bring, evil stones that give their owner's immense powers. Fueled by greed and power, the Raregroove Kingdom used the Dark Bring for chaos and terror. An epic battle ensued against the Symphonia Kingdom, and the Rave, the power of light, was able to overcome the Dark bring, the power of darkness. The first Rave Master, Shiba, attempted to vanquish Sinclair, the "creator" of the Dark Bring. This event caused the Overdrive, a cataclysmic event that destroyed 1/10th of the world. The Dark Bring was brought back into existence, and minions of the Dark Bring known as the Power Guard were sent out to find the five Rave stones. Haru Glory, the show's main protaganist, is tasked with saving the world against the Power Guard, the Dark Bring and the eventual destruction of the world. The show is based on the first 12 issues of the anime series, having run on TBS from 2001 to 2002. It has since been rebroadcast on Syfy since 2009. MORE
