Prototype This! was a TV series that took imaginative engineering ideas and made them into reality. Situated on Treasure Island in the San Francisco Bay, a top-notch team of two Ph. D engineers, a hacker and a special effects guru hope to built the future one wire at a time. Dr. Mike North, a Material Scientist at the University of California, Santa Barbara, Joe "Kingpin" Grand, a self-described hacker studying electrical engineering at Boston University, Terry Sandin, a special effects whiz from Hollywood, and Dr. Zoz Brooks, a robotics enginner at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, task themselves in taking novel ideas and solutions to current day problems and making prototypes for them over the course of 13 episodes. These inventions run the gamut of practical to experimental. Some include a mind controlled car, a robotic dog sitter and a gecko superhero suit.
