Peacemakers is a 2003 made for cable western television series broadcast by the USA Network. In the 1882 old west, sheriff Marshal Stone (Tom Berenger, Platoon, The Substitute, Inception) corrals criminals and investigates their acts with the aid of a scientist (Peter O'Meara, He's Just Not That Into You, Resident Evil: Extinction, Green Street Hooligans 2, Leap Year) who indoctrinates the sheriff to the early flagships of what would become modern technology and forensic pathology. Berenger plays the traditional Western lawman with skill, while O'Meara's Detective Finch provides an excellent contrast, and showcases the series' originality with his forensics-minded approach to criminal investigation, as opposed to Berenger's Marshal Stone's Western-style approach. There are other characters in the show that are interesting, including the town mortician, who is female, and a former medical student. She's often called upon to do autopsies and perform other forensic-related duties. She's likeable and smart and it's nice to see an intelligent woman in a western show set in this era.MORE
