Party Down

Party Down, starring Jane Lynch, Martin Starr, Ken Marino, Ryan Hansen, Adam Scott, and Lizzy Caplan, centers on a group of misfits working for a catering company in Los Angeles. Ron (Ken Marino), struggles to keep his team in check while they shrug off their catering responsibilities to prepare for auditions, hobnob with the guests at the parties they are working, and flirt with each other while on the clock. The series really focuses on Henry (Adam Scott), a failed actor who has given up on his career and falls back on this catering gig to make ends meet. Although he spends most of his time trying to run away from his one big role: the Are We Having Fun yet guy on a beer commercial, guests are constantly realizing who he is and asking him to repeat the line that made him famous. Henry begins to fall for his co-worker Casey (Lizzy Caplan), a comedian who starts off the series with a semi-abusive husband. As the two fall in and out of courtship, they, along with the rest of the Party Down team, meet a variety of interesting characters, including mobsters, porn stars, and senior citizens looking for love. The uniting bond between the entire team is that they are all looking to make something of themselves. Whether it's Ron's dream of owning a Soup R Crackers, Roman's (Martin Starr) desire to sell a script, or Kyle's (Ryan Hansen) hope for a breakout role, these men and women see catering only as a temporary position until they can find a better gig. Megan Mullally joined the cast in the second season, and Party Down also features many notable cameos from actors such as Jennifer Coolidge, Joey Lauren Adams, J.K. Simmons, Olivia Alaina May, and Jason Dohring. MORE
