One Life To Live

One Life to Live is an Emmy-Award-winning ABC soap opera from the creator of All My Children. When the series first aired in 1968, it dealt with material no daytime drama had approached before. Most soaps up to that point had dealt strictly with white families, with economic class being the only significant difference between them. One Life to Live, however, began with a markedly different premise. The show follows a diverse collection of families, including an African American family and a Jewish family. The series centers on Victoria "Viki" Lord, a complex and troubled woman, who has been portrayed by six-time Emmy winner Erika Slezak since 1971. The series has never backed down from controversial or difficult issues, choosing to create story lines for every real-life topic viewers may be dealing with in their own lives.
