Northern Exposure

Northern Exposure was a dramatic television series on CBS created by Joshua Brand and John Falsey and starring Rob Morrow, Barry Corbin and Janine Turner. The show revolved around Dr. Joel Fleischman played by Rob Morrow being a doctor from New York City who transferred to Alaska in order to pay off student loans. The first seasons of the series deal with Dr. Joel Fleischman becoming accustomed to the Alaskan lifestyle and dealing with the unique citizens of the town. The series gradually expanded into stories about the supporting characters and dealt more with the entire community. The series lasted for six seasons culminating in 110 episodes through 1990 to 1995. The show was also executive produced by David Chase who went on to become the creator of The Sopranos. Northern Exposure was very well-received by critics and awarded numerous awards including two Peabody Wards and three Emmy Awards. MORE
